What is PLC ?
PLC is an abbreviation for "Powerline Communication".
You will also find the terms PLT ("Powerline Transmission")
and BPL ("Broadband Powerline") having the same
meaning.
The principle where Powerline Communication is built
on, is "No additional wiring needed". In many
cases, you are forced to buy and install quite some
meters/feet of network cable to get let's say the PC
to access the internet and to allow it to share files
with the notebook. Powerline Communication puts an end
to this. The power cables are there anyway, so why not
use it for networking? Using this principle, it is possible
to access the network and internet at any power socket
in the building. Just like that.

Why PLC ?
Powerline Communications has overcome the limitations
of cabling and wireless networking to deliver an affordable
and reliable alternative for distributing digital signal.
Here are five good reasons to use PLC solution:
Ease to install
- No new cabling means minimal disruption time for the
business. Single installation - - point means quick
implementation timescales
- Minimum dust creation in high risk damage environment
Return on investment
- There is a short amortisation period due to the low
cost of installation
- The location can be moved from time to time
